President Lee Jae Myung welcomed business leaders around the world in the historic city of Gyeongju on Wednesday, highlighting Korea’s commitment to global economic cooperation and emphasizing the importance of multilateralism in confronting economic challenges.
Speaking at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit held in Hwarang Hall at Gyeongju Arts Center, Lee emphasized the “wisdom of connection” when it comes to the world economy, saying Korea will “lead the way in multilateral cooperation to face current crises.”
Lee acknowledged the resurgence of protectionism and prioritization of national interests, noting that “in such times, APEC’s role as a platform for solidarity” is vitally important.
The president also introduced Korea’s vision for artificial intelligence (AI), expressing hope that “AI for all” will become a new standard for APEC.
